It's the same old movie on my TV that's showing
again
Mommy's insane
Her baby's dead
But the cradle still rocks its head
It's the funniest thing
It's something to see
Over and over again
On my TV
The man in a white collar is on the screen
Acting for his big dollar
Channel Three is all I need
Preacher says he'll set me free
On my TV
I found salvation on the station
There's salvation sold on that station
As the cameras roll
The satellite feeds my brain
And I hide in that ghostly light
It's my oh so lonely life
In a soap opera today
Come tomorrow there'll be a different character
to play
I'm losing grip in the rat race
In a cop chase I'm the thief committing crime
Well it's on the prime-time
On the news line
Just like Channel Three
A millionaire ministry
Mass producing faith like a factory
Won't you set me free
From my TV
I found salvation on the station
Found salvation on the station
There's salvation sold on that station
As the cameras roll
The satellite feeds my brain
And I hide in that ghostly light
It's my lonely life
It feels like I'm living in a sequel
I'm living for the salvation station
Yes, I'm living in a sequel
It never ends

What can I say about Big Big Train that I haven’t said before?
This album took a little while to grow on me but by the time I saw it live I was in love with its humongous, over-egged pomposity! They do it all with such passion, excitement and amazing musicianship.

The album takes off nicely with David Longdon's "The Strangest Times", but then gets into immediate free fall and deeply underwater for the next few tracks, quite unexpectedly. Fortunately, it recovers with Nick D'Virgilio's "Apollo" (hey, this guy CAN write good music, although he hides this ability most of the time) and the remaining three tracks, one of which is another Longdon masterpiece. So in the end the final impression is somewhat in the positive range. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
The Long Island metal band's third album etches arena-sized hooks into their jagged compositions, deftly balancing experimental and poppy inclinations. Bandcamp Album of the Day May 12, 2022
